Our First Year!

It has been one year since our first Troop meeting, and initial chartering! So far it has been aterrific journey as we establish ourselves as one of the leading Boy Scouttroops in the New Birth of Freedom Council.
We could not have made it this far if it wasn’t for thefantastic support we have received from the community and the Local Boy ScoutCouncil. Specifically we would like torecognize Pastor Liddick and Pastor Schellenberger for the support anindividual effort they have made to support our Troop. We are also grateful for the Church communityas a whole, who has graciously and warmly welcomed us into their family.
At the council level we would like to recognize RonGardener, The President of the New Birth of Freedom Council, and the AdventureDistrict Executive, Kevin Gill, they have proved invaluable in helping us getstarted and their ongoing support throughout the year. Their support has exceeded our expectations
As we continue in our second year we are looking towardsexpanding our volunteer base and recruiting new scouts into the program. We would like to expand our program offeringsby adding new exciting high adventure activities and integrating Webelos intoour program. We are also currently looking at partnering with parents livingnearby to start and associated Cub Scout pack.

It was a great weekend for camping! Hidden Valley Rotary lodge as usual was excellent. we got most of the new scouts their totin' chips and Fireman chit's. We had Phil Engers come up and bake us pies (13) and had lamb and ham for dinner. As far as the First Trip in the history of Troop 55 it could not have gone any better! Click Here For Pictures

I would like to welcome everyone to the brand new Troop 55. After several years we are now in the process of reforming. This marks an exciting time in the direction of scouting in the Lemoyne area as we begin to provide scouting services at the Grace United Methodist church. I would like to welcome all that view this website to take a few moments to look over the many features we provide. We are in the process of building an extremely deep and useful resource for all things scouting. If you are a scout or in the Adventure District, or are interested in becoming a scout, please take a few moments and look over the guiding philosophies and knowledge base that we provide. We would like to invite you to one of our weekly troop meetings at 7pm. Come and see what we offer as a fun, enriching and exciting program. If you are looking to volunteer we have many positions and responbilities that need filled and can provide a positive cooperative environment that is intensely rewarding.
